Inspired by Amiri Baraka’s Dutchman, Frenchman picks up decades after the mysterious death of Clay Williams aboard a New York City train, his son Clay Williams Jr. unknowingly finds himself In a gender neutral Metro North bathroom in the middle of Harlem, with his father’s murderer. Living in a Du Bois paradox, Clay finds himself on a tightrope act. Will Clay fall victim to Lula’s age old tactics or open the door for a new consciousness?
*Please note that this performance will be presented at the Tank's in-person performance space at 312 W 36th St. All attendees and artists will be required to have two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. Patrons will also be required to wear masks when not eating or drinking.
