“Are the Cis Okay?” is a ~Very~ dramatic play Daring to ask the question: “[see title of play]”. A council of trans, gender nonconforming and gender expansive people gather in a super secret gender-inclusive undisclosed location to determine whether or not the cis are “okay,” and should the cis NOT be okay, the council must collectively and unanimously decide what punishment shall be bestowed upon the cis for cis crimes against greater humanity (say “cis” again).
"My deepest gratitude goes to the artists who have given their time and voices to this piece as I continue to develop it. This is the first time I’ve written a TGNC play with an all-TGNC team without a single worry of having to explain or define 'trans lingo.' This one is specifically for us, AND for audiences of all genders. And while the world is falling to pieces, I’m grateful to be able to share a laugh while being in community. Now let’s have some fun and shit all over the cis ('punch down,' who?)" — Mika (playwright)
For audiences 18+
