In a small Louisiana mobile home park, childhood best friends Wren and Lylah struggle with their evolving friendship while Mae, a reclusive widow and Wren's neighbor, only leaves her house to take out the trash. When a Star crash-lands in their midst, searching for her lost love, Wren, Lylah, and Mae are brought together in surprising ways, igniting an exploration of identity, friendship, gender, sexuality, beauty, and expectation. "GROSS" asks us, what parts of ourselves are we willing to sacrifice for others?
Content Warning: Scenes and dialogue that include sexual themes and situations. Depictions and discussions of body image issues and mental health struggles related to body perception. Instances of discrimination and negative attitudes towards larger body types.
