Praise of Love combines the ancient discussion of Love with the contemporary exploration of romantic love to open up the view of human affection. The contemporary concepts of love will derive from Patrick Marber’s play Closer (1997), a comedy-drama that makes a spectacle of romantic issues such as commitment, deception, desire and unwarranted possessions. Between scenes of Closer, the logical exploration love will be presented through the philosophical text, Plato’s Symposium (c.385-380 BC).

Love is the root of all motivations. The love of career, family, knowledge and friendships. To not have all of those loves in your life, there comes an unbalance that weakens a person and causes discourse.
