About the Show
In a play about appearances, the characters are not exactly what they seem to be, and are ultimately revealed to be what they really are, which they themselves do not initially understand.
On the evening of Mardi Gras, at a masquerade dinner party, a wine shop merchant, his shop assistant, and a theater director conceive of a plan to take a half million dollars of rare wine, counterfeit the bottles, and fence them. But the theft is reported, the fraud is discovered, and the merchant has to surrender the stolen wine--or betray himself and his true love.
