Sprawl examines a high school wrestling team as its members grapple with their relationship to masculinity under the harsh scrutiny of their Coach. Throughout the span of a season, the team bears the weight of impossible expectations, both physically and mentally, from the mat to the mirror.
Discussions of substance abuse, body dysmorphia, toxic masculinity, eating disorders and suicide. Displays of sexism, queerphobia and transphobia. Use of derogatory language towards queer folks.
*Please note that this performance will be presented at the Tank's in-person performance space at 312 W 36th St. All attendees and artists will be required to have a covid vaccination before being admitted to the space. Patrons will also be required to wear masks, when not eating or drinking.
