Thunder! Lightning! Nebulous time period resembling a turn-of-the-20th century past!

Young scholar Arthur Tuck is on a quest for a mysterious magical artifact when he finds himself lost in the countryside during a thunderstorm — good thing there’s aforeboding Gothic manor happy to let him in! Arthur is warmly welcomed by the lady of the house, the cryptic Sybil Creepe, and her trusty manservant Wadsworth, but he can’t help but feel like they’re keeping something from him about the previous master of the house, Sybil’s nephew (nothing scarier than nephews) …not to mention all the scary-but-alluring violin music he keeps hearing! Arthur’s curiosity finally leads him to an attic room, where he discovers the Creepes' biggest secret – a young man playing the violin who has been hideously transformed into a  – wait, what is he, exactly?

SYBIL CREEPE…is a queer, romantic fantasy comedy featuring as many Gothic lit tropes as (in)humanly possible — including haunted chain-smoking dolls, evil exes, butlers and cooks, Something We Don’t Talk About in the Basement, Big Bad Museum Curators, portraits, portals, and gnomes, all played by a small ensemble of actors.

SYBIL CREEPE'S HOUSE OF MYSTERIES is presented as a part of Tier5 Theatre Company's SPOOKYF3ST, our third annual horror-themed new play staged reading series at The Tank.
