Minors: A Realization of the American Dream
It’s 2009, life is good, and Novak and Deckert are minor league baseball players. Novak and Deckert have been minor league baseball players for eight years. But this year? This is THEIR YEAR. Next year in the majors, baby! They’re gonna hit it out of the park! It’s the third game of the season, we’re in for a long nine innings and our boys are gonna have a lot of downtime in the dugout. No worries for them, though: they have selves to better, issues to solve, and - most importantly - another couple hundred pages of the Great Gatsby to get through. They don’t mind the young hotshots on the team stealing their thunder. They don’t mind that the third member of their trio is suddenly a star in big leagues. They believe in themselves, and they believe in each other, and most importantly, they believe in BASEBALL. They have plenty to talk about - to each other, and to you! You: their audience, their crowd, their country! Their best friend. An exploration of the American dream and America’s pastime. But mostly the first one.
