Fan Letters will be performing excerpts from their in-development opera Autocomplete - utilizing unique interactive light-based instruments - as well as selections from past work.

Autocomplete is set in a barely inhabitable post-apocalyptic landscape overrun by robotic automation, artificial intelligence, and the effects of climate change. Through this lens, the work explores miscommunication, community, and the limits of technology.

About the Artists

Fan Letters is an audiovisual collaboration between musician Dylan Neely and multimedia artist Alex Nathanson. Their work combines sound, video, and handmade electronic instruments into playful and thought-provoking interactive multimedia performances. Shows oscillate between noise and chamber music, from experimental cinema to Saturday morning cartoons, and political negotiations to schoolyard games. Their work has been described as “that secret alchemical intersection between music performance, video games, good art, digital animation, multiple screens, and tech,” and as “difficult to describe.”
