About the Film

Mona (Eleanore Pienta) is a mentally unbalanced and very pregnant young woman in a hideous orange coat. Without any friends to speak of and alienated from her hoochie mama coworkers at a crummy Brooklyn supermarket, Mona maintains a strangely close relationship with her campy, recovering alcoholic mother May (Dana Eskelson). Mona’s sister Jordan (Molly Plunk) is an unemployable party girl, estranged from May and making life hell for her increasingly fed up girlfriend Sylve (Keisha Zollar). In the final days of her pregnancy, Mona draws her mother, sister, and anybody who happens to get caught in her wake into her hectic life as she drifts further from reality.

The screening will be followed by a talk-back with director Drew Tobia and lead actress Eleanore Pienta, led by Nathan Silver, director and co-writer of <a href="http://www.thetanknyc.org/film/203-exit-elena/">Exit Elena</a> and <a href="http://www.thetanknyc.org/film/204-soft-in-the-head/">Soft in the Head</a>, both of which are also screening as part of <a href="http://thetanknyc.org/series/2014_filmseries/">Filmmaker Breakthroughs</a>!

About the Artists

Drew Tobia, Director/Writer – Drew Tobia is an independent film director. See You Next Tuesday, his first feature length film, played the festival circuit in 2013 to critical acclaim and was released in 2014 through Devolver Digital Films. Filmmaker Magazine labeled him as a “promising new voice in American independent motion pictures,” with the Village Voice asserting that “he embraces the absurdity of human behavior at the same time that he recoils from it.” He is currently in development on his new film, slated to film in winter 2015.

Rachel Wolther, Producer – Rachel Wolther is a producer based in New York City. She was a co-producer on Josephine Decker's two feature films, Thou Wast Mild and Lovely and Butter on the Latch, which both premiered at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival. She was a producer on the second season of Ingrid Jungermanns hit web series, “F to 7th” and associate producer on Richard’s Wedding (Onur Tukel, 2012). Wolther is the Executive Producer of NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS, a boutique production company that focuses on original storytelling and branded content. Upcoming features include Stinking Heaven (Nathan Silver) and Luzon (Angeline Gragasin).

Brian McOmber (Composer) Last year, Brian scored his first feature film titled A Teacher (dir. Hannah Fidell), which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Other recent works include Man & Gun (premiered SXSW 2012) a short film he wrote, directed, and scored, as well as The Gathering Squall (premiered SXSW 2012) - a short film based on the Joyce Carol Oates short story of the same name. Although most recognized as the drummer for the band Dirty Projectors (2006-2012), Brian has performed and/or recorded with many other artists including Björk, David Byrne, Yeasayer, Mira Calix, St. Vincent, Hubble, Marijuana Death Squads, Pat Jordache, Casper Electronics, and Deer Tick.

Sofi Marshall (Editor) Sofi Marshall is a film and television editor based in the New York City area. Her work spans both narrative and documentary feature films, short films, music videos and commercials. Recent projects include A Teacher, a feature film by writer/director Hannah Fidell, which was an official selection at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival will be distributed later this year by Oscilloscope.

Eleanore Pienta (Actor “Mona”) 
Eleanore is a young actress, dancer, and visual artist from Valatie, New York. She earned her BFA in Photography and Video at Hunter College. Her photographs and videos explore fictional characters constantly flipping into and out of reality and greatly informed the basis of “See You Next Tuesday”. She co-founded the Cocoon Central Dance Team, a comedy dance troupe, with which we she choreographs and performs regularly. She is also a member of COGNAC, a radio sketch comedy collective, and was a leading actress in the acclaimed web-series “Everything a Monster Is Not” directed by Grammy nominated director Daniel Scheinert.

Dana Eskelson (Actor “May”) 
Dana is a veteran actress onstage, onscreen, and on television. Her film roles include the George Clooney directed “The Company Men,” Best Director of Sundance 2010 winner “Three Backyards,” “Peter and Vandy,” “The Brave One,” “Cold Creek Manor,” “One Last Thing,” with recurring television roles on “Brotherhood”, “Prince Street” and “New York Undercover,” and guest roles on “The Unusuals,” The Law and Order Triad,” and “100 Centre Street,” among others. On stage, she has worked with many prestigious New York theaters, including The Atlantic Theater, The Vineyard Theater, Steppenwolf Theater, A.R.T., and with New Crime Theater in Chicago.

Molly Plunk (Actor “Jordan”) 
Molly Plunk is a professional performance artist and entertainer in Chicago, working as an actress, mime, and trapeze artist. Molly has performed with many Chicago-based theater companies including the Neo-Futurists, the Gift, Redmoon, Collaboraction, and Silent Theater Company. She is a frequent muse to noted underground filmmaker Usama Alshaibi, with a scene stealing performance in his 2010 award-winning film “Profane.” She also appeared in producer Rachel Wolther’s film “Schizcago.”

Keisha Zollar (Actor “Sylve”) 
California born, New School for Acting trained, and cooking enthusiast, Keisha is an actress- comedienne-creator, who performs at the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Peoples Improv Theater doing improv, sketch, characters and general weirdness. Influenced comedically by the Maria Bamfords and Andy Kaufmans of the world with a splash of Aisha Tyler, Keisha brings her performances to the screen and stage. Keisha has appeared on Nickelodeon, MTV, Netflix, FUSE, Comedy Central, College Humor Videos, and even was a finalist for the 2012 Andy Kaufman Awards.
