The Tank presents The Umbrella Plays By Stephanie Janssen
FringeNYC 2008 Excellence Award for Outstanding Play
A woman waits in the swirl of a nighttime thunderstorm, shielded and serene, umbrella in hand. A man arrives lost and wet, exposed. A chance encounter. So begins The Umbrella Plays, six interconnecting snapshot-sized pieces, where stormy weather comes and goes, lovers are sought and lost and found, ambitions jump the tracks and hope gets renewed, as disparate lives come to light and sometimes collide, connected by a shared search for shelter, in whatever form it may be found.

"“The cast gives a mesmerizing and emotional performance... The Umbrella Plays offers the perfect balance between fighting your way through a thunderstorm and splashing in puddles.”"
