Ryan is an NYC-based interdisciplinary director merging image, language, and action to generate humanist stories of underrepresented voices for the stage and camera.
Charlie Meyers is a trans playwright and theatre artist based in St. Louis, Missouri whose work explores love, death, identity, poetry, and interconnectedness.

Translucent combines striking visual elements with a powerful text to tell the story of a young Latina trans woman who is about to immigrate to a new country. This poignant solo performance is a meditation on her journey: a farewell to her before-life in a home that did not accept her, a celebration of who she is now, and a love letter embracing her transformation in the future. The play runs 20 minutes and combines multiple artistic disciplines, including theatre, movement, poetry, and installation design.
Until It Gets Dark by Rush Johnston/Kaleid Dance Collective
Performed by Sammie Murray & Griffin Lockette
"Until It Gets Dark," encapsulates the complex dichotomy faced by trans individuals—where darkness represents both vulnerability and freedom. While darkness can provide a cover for violence, it can also create a shield for community, safety, and expression. Until It Gets Dark is a duet facilitated by a team entirely composed of individuals who identify as trans or queer including the cast, composer, and choreographer.
