The Tank presents in association with Prism Stage Company and LS Nelson Productions, "Vietnam...through my lens".
Sometimes poignant, sometimes lighthearted, always thought provoking, "Vietnam...through my lens" is not a tale of guts and glory. Nor is it a political statement. It is a woven stream of memories, reflections, stories, brought to life by Stu Richel, a soldier in the First Infantry Division, who served as a combat journalist & photographer. This play is made even more vivid by video projections including Stu’s Vietnam photos, his journey to, through, and beyond Vietnam.
Prism Stage Company is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit theater company. In 2010 director Benn Haenel and playwright Judith Estrine began a creative journey that culminated in the founding of Prism Stage Company in 2013. Their aim was to develop and produce new and overlooked plays by exciting playwrights over 40, performed by accomplished theater professionals. Judith Estrine is the Artistic Director.
LSNelson Productions is a NYC independent production company that has represented “Vietnam…through my lens” since its original New York run in 2014 and has continued to represent this play throughout its National Tour, taking it to nine states since 2015. The company also represents the award winning “Sweet Texas Reckoning” by Traci Godfrey.
Stu Richel (Playwright and Actor) is a NYC-based playwright and AEA, SAG-AFTRA actor. His credits include TV: principal roles in 30 Rock (Alec Baldwin’s boss,) Billions, The Get Down, Gypsy (Blythe Danner’s husband), What Would You Do?, One Life to Live. Film: principal roles in 23 features, including Death in Love (Jacqueline Bisset’s husband), and Black Panthers (J. Edgar Hoover). Regional Theatre: Proof, Holiday and State of the Union. Other solo shows, written and performed: Theodore Judah and the Transcontinental RR; Mortal Decisions, A Diary of the Donner Party; Everyone’s War; Literature Alive! Linda S. Nelson (Director/Producer) is also a dramaturge and actor. Her directing/producing credits include Toast, Boast or Roast – A Tribute to Austin Pendleton featuring Olympia Dukakis, Louis Zorich, F. Murray Abraham, Dylan Baker and Becky Ann Baker at the Players Club (Oberon Theatre Ensemble); Missa Solemnis or The Play About Henry by Roman Feeser (World Premiere, Tour); Tongue of a Bird by Ellen McLaughlin (Shetler Theatre and The Medicine Show), The Necessary Disposal by Bob Ost (Scripts Up!); The Choice by Claire Luckham (North American Premiere); and two interactive murder mysteries The Art of Murder and Delicious Death, both of which she co-wrote.

Michael Lee Stever (Photo Montages & Video Design) is a freelance director, filmmaker, cameraman and writer. His documentary short films, Resurrecting Carrie with Piper Laurie and VTML’s Linda S. Nelson, and Jan Broberg’s Guide to Thespians, Sociopaths & Scream Queens with Elijah Wood, have screened at film festivals across the country, including the NYC International Horror Festival. Stever’s first independently produced documentary Saturday Nightmares; The Ultimate Horror Expo screened in NYC in October, 2010. He served as UPM on the acclaimed documentary, 'Broadway The Golden Age,' and is a regular contributor to BroadwayWorld.com, TheaterPizzazz.com, and The Drama Desk. www.MichaelStever.net
