Marfa, Texas. Two women reunite with their childhood best friend, only to find that his politics have gone askew. With uncertainty defining both the present and future, Angela faces the temptation of adopting her old friend’s conservative lifestyle, while Magna seeks (and finds) some certainty about her way forward when she and a lifelong Marfan encounter the mysterious Marfa Lights.

Very Blue Light is a play about people caught in the conflict between emergent technology, our networks, and the natural world, and asks: what does it mean for a chosen family to try to balance those forces?

Emily Moler is a New York based multidisciplinary director of theater, film, and voice over performance. Selected theatrical credits include: Constellations (Rogue Theater Company), Wad (American Lives Theater), The Grown-Ups (Baby Teeth), Bitch Boxer (Krank Brooklyn), Minor Character and The Winter Guard Play (Skidmore College), Dance Nation, Nonna Kills the President, Promithes Promithes, Uncle Vanya, As You Like It, Men on Boats, End Days, and Ironbound (UCSD); And We’re Live, and Coffee Break (Actors Theatre of Louisville). Chamber Music, Untitled American Flag Craft Project, and Good Cry (self-produced). She has directed voice over performances for Riot Games and Square Enix. Emily is a New George's affiliated artist and a Drama League alum. She has developed new plays with The New Harmony Project, Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Orchard Project, Chautauqua Theater Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre LA, The Associates Theater Ensemble, Joe’s Pub, Chance Theater, IAMA Theatre Company, SITI Company, The Duplex, Geffen Playhouse, The Tank, and Pipeline Theatre Company. Jiahao (Neil) Qiu 邱嘉皓 (he/him) is a Chinese-born Theatre Collaborator and Lighting Designer. His recent design credits in the United States: The Wilderness (Time Theatre Collective), Redemption Story (The Associates Theater Ensemble), Two Takes: The Peony Pavilion – Bloom (LMCC), Seven Cousins for a Horse (Thrown Stone Theatre), and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Elijah Thomas (Co Lighting Designer) is a New Jersey-based lighting designer whose work spans theatre, dance, and opera. An alumnus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts' Lighting Design and Technology program, his recent design credits include: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella with Charlottesville Opera, Awaken with Circus Evo, Aladdin with Macholah Escuela de Danza at the National Theatre of San Salvador, Cyrano de Bergerac with Taffety Punk Theatre Company, and Associate Lighting Designer with Opera Delaware's production of Tosca.

Ari Cleveland is an Ohio-born multimedia artist specializing in sound design, A/V production, and direction. Select credits include On Tuesdays We Fight (Soho Playhouse), Measure for Measure (The Maker's Space), strays (Dixon Place), ¡Violencia! (Repertorio Español), Needle & Bone (The Flea), White Elephant (Court Square Theatre), Wanna Cyber? (Loading Dock Theatre) and 24 Hour Plays: Nationals (Classic Stage Company). They were a 2026 Design Wing Fellow at the Great Plains Theatre Conference and co-host the theatrical review podcast, "The Unobstructed Review." Dom Martello is a transfemme playwright and performer based in NYC. They recently made their  Broadway debut as part of the cast of A DOG DAY AFTERNOON, written by Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by Rupert Goold. Dom’s work has been developed and produced by Breaking the Binary, The Road Theater, The Workshop Theater, and The Elif Collective. Dom is a Celebration Theater Rites of Passage Commission Recipient with their play substantiation, produced this past December. Their play RED TIDE was the inaugural reading for the Blue Roses Project. They are a Truman Capote Fellow, a Brooklyn College MFA Playwriting ‘27 Candidate, and a Syracuse University BFA Acting alumni.

Ellenor Riley-Condit is an actor, director, producer, and educator working at the intersection of performance creation and liberatory praxis. She specializes in processes that balance artistic rigor with collective care. Favorite projects include Godfriend, Once in a Hundred Years, A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of the Great Lakes, Oh, Buddy, Trojan Women, A Day’s Work and the award-winning film Committee of Six. Education: University of Chicago, Goddard College, SITI Conservatory. She is currently based in Little Rock, Arkansas and works each summer at Vassar College’s Powerhouse Theater Training Program.
