Produced by Sivan Battat and Ash Marinaccio
Ananas is a Palestinian social, cultural, and artistic youth initiative in Gaza using the arts as a tool for social justice and participatory democracy. In 2019 their performance space was destroyed in a series of shelling by the Israeli military. Since then, they have been working out of collective members' living rooms and donated spaces. Ananas was founded by Bassam Hussen Elderawi and facilitated by a core Palestinian youth team who believe in the importance of their role as youth in social change. They work together in a democratic, participatory collective, organized through an internal list that we constantly develop.
At this event, we will stream an excerpt of a production and have a talkback on Zoom with members of the group, facilitated by Opalanietet of the Eagle Project, with translation by Haneen Abo Soad.
