Five lonely women. A grocery store. A blizzard. An ex-girlfriend’s surprise arrival.
When the power goes out in Ithaca, New York, the cashier and four other girls get trapped in a grocery store together. As the night descends into awkward conversations and surprising revelations, the girls begin to realise… they all know each other.
Set in 2007 Upstate New York, Supermarket 86 is a character-driven dramedy featuring five complicated, lonely young women pushed to confront their unwanted realities and uncertain futures. Fundamentally, the show is about the desire to relate and how, sometimes, you are forced to find connection in places that initially seem mundane and stagnant.
This show is for everyone: it’s funny, it’s touching, it’s vulgar at some moments, and endearing at others. You’ll leave the theater hoping you’ll run into your ex… Come see for yourself.
