In STENCH, a makeshift family is united by their shared body odor, which has alienated them from polite society. This set-up has worked pretty well for a while; after all, their “father” Bobby is turning 10,000 years old. But when Sapphire finds a solution to their smell, the family Bobby has worked so hard to create begins to fall apart. Gretchen gets a boyfriend who can’t seem to smell her, Phil finds a man online who claims to be his dad, and Homer’s jokes aren’t hitting like they used to. Also, Bobby might have claws. An absurd comedy from theatre collective Trove.
