Retro(aid): A Sankofa Musical Offering is a Black Queer Church experience that uses music as a vessel to connect us to those who came before us. This be a space for us by us, that be big enough to hold both our joy and grief in an effort to acknowledge both the light and shadows that come with our complex entirety. Through music, child-hood, games, conversation, and reflection lets us gather as community to look back in order to transition in a future that is to be sculpted by the collective, a future where to be both black/trans /gender-queer is acknowledged as scared experience.
