Joan of Arc like you've never seen before.

On the eve of war, Joan battles with her demons, rousing her troops to the battlefield, the salvation of France, and certain death.

John Reed takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s Henry VI mention of Joan of Arc and restructures them (along with several other classic Shakespeare texts) in order to allow Joan to tell her own story: that of a complex human- a child soldier, thrust into a war she did not start.

La Pucelle urges us to protect our young heroes just as much as they protect us.

Our team is:

Mieko Gavia (Producer/Joan) an actor, writer, producer and co-owner of Black Revolutionary Theater Workshop.

Chanel Byas (Producer) a Producer, a Stage Manager and member of Black Revolutionary Theater Workshop.

John Reed (Writer/Cinematography) is a journalist, novelist, filmmaker, and current professor at The New School.

Tony Torn (Director) is a writer/actor/director/teacher with over 100 film and stage credits.

Nora Alexander (Stage Manager)  is a stage manager/ writer/ director/ arts admin.

Kira deCoudres (Sound Designer/co-video producer)  is a remix media artist and theorist specializing in topics of body-mind decay, mutation, and mutilation.

Moneé Stamp (Lighting Designer) is a New York based lighting designer.

Kemba Barnes (Squire/Soldier/Spirit) is a New York based dancer and actor.  

Michael Weiner (Jack Cade) is a New York based actor.

Rolls Andre (Father) is a New York based actor and teacher.
