Joanna Pickering is an award-winning British playwright and actress whose plays have sold out black box theater in New York City, London, and Paris. Her plays are stocked at The Drama Book Shop and Books Are Magic in New York. Her solo shows, Crash LandingLaughing in the Dark, and Cease and Desist are commissioned from 2026. In 2025, Lara's Journey live-streamed to over 1 million viewers on social media from Theater 555, via Natalia Kholodenko, in collaboration for Ukrainian refugees—other collaborators included Gloria Gaynor and Kathy Sledge. In 2025, the play was presented at the Off-Avignon Theatre Festival, garnering a rave review. In 2023, Don't Harm the Animals premiered at Chain Theater. In 2022/23, Bad Victims sold out two runs at The Courtyard Theater, London, co-starring Pickering and Richard Emerson (West End's Chess), directed by Erica Gould (Neil LaBute, Theresa Rebeck). Other credits include Cat and Mouse (The Drama Book Shop with Wonder Years’ Dan Lauria), The Endgame (New Perspective Theater, New York, and Big Funk, Paris), Beach Break (The Bridge Theater, New York), Misty and Rover (The Chain, New York), and the trilogy Truth, Lies and Deception (Pavé D'Orsay, Paris) starring Pickering. Sylvie and Sly was first read by Caroline Aaron (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), directed by Lorca Peress (Multi-Stages) for The League of Professional Theater Women. It will be broadcast for screen starring Emmy-nominated Ilene Kristen and Gary Aspen, directed by multi-Emmy Award-winner Gary Donatelli (release June 30). As an actress, Joanna has won six independent Best Actress awards and Outstanding Performance awards, including at the NY International Women Festival, The Actors Awards, and L.A. Film Awards, for the movie Diva (2023). She holds a BSc in Pure Mathematics, is a member of The Actors Studio PDU, The Actors Gym, The International Center of Women Playwrights, The League of Professional Theater Women, SAG, and has collaborated with U.N. campaigns and gender rights initiatives. Eric Krebs is a Tony-nominated theater producer with a career that spans more than 50 years, in which he has worked as a producer, a theater founder and operator, and a college professor. His producing organization, Eric Krebs Theatrical Management, was founded in 1979. In 1974 he founded the George Street Playhouse regional theater in New Brunswick, New Jersey, now in its 51st season. He built and operated Off-Broadway’s John Houseman Theater Center and Douglas Fairbanks Theater for over 20 years. Most recently he renovated and became the operator of a 160-seat Off-Broadway theater, reopening it as Theater 555, 555 West 42nd Street in New York City. He hosts rentals at the theater in addition to producing his own projects. On Broadway he produced: Bill Maher: Victory Begins at Home (Tony nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event), Neil Simon’s The Dinner PartyIt Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues (nominated for 4 Tony Awards including Best Musical), and Electra with Zoë Wanamaker (nominated for 3 Tony Awards). Current and recent Off-Broadway productions include: Breakin' NYC, a Hip Hop and breakdancing production, Forbidden Broadway: Merrily We Stole a SongJust Another Day by Dan Lauria and featuring Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years) and Patty McCormack (The Bad Seed).
