Speak ART is USE's annual mainstage featuring a devised piece based on a culturally relevant theme. Speak ART empowers multidisciplinary artists to craft a new theatrical piece merging music, movement, and text. Through improvisation and experimental techniques, artists explore a culturally relevant theme and develop a piece reflective of their collective vision.
This year, the ensemble is exploring Body Language: Every “Body” Has a Story.
Our bodies are mosaics of stories collected throughout our lives. Body Language threads the needle between four people's journeys, exploring where they may overlap, and how their bodies shape their view of the world and their own identities. USE’s Speak ART ensemble utilizes a blend of movement, music, and text to excavate their heart-centered reflections directly with a live audience. Join us to step into conversation with your own body story while engaging in community with each other.
