Sam Nguyen is home from college for the Holidays and has hopes of reassembling the family after years apart. His father, Phuong Nguyen, calls for a reunion to celebrate the family’s “Asian LunarMas” — a hybridized creation that mixes the Vietnamese new year, Tết, with the Western celebration of Christmas. Forced to rekindle his relationship with his schizoaffective brother and estranged mother, Sam looks for answers to his family’s trauma in his father’s past. When memories become mixed with the present, Sam faces family history that has unknowingly woven its way into his own.
