The Lolita Apologies returns to NYC following its critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last summer.

Fringe Review’s Hidden Gem of the Festival presents its first full staging in the United States. Called “the kind of theatre that provokes conversation…and lingers in your thoughts days later,” and “a raw and vulnerable examination,” The Lolita Apologies, “carries the audience from playful satire to something far more personal and affecting.”

Written and directed by Talia Fossum-Wernick and starring Jackie McKenna and Alex Keane, The Lolita Apologies is a genre-bending exploration of complicity, power, and the enduring cultural echoes of Vladimir Nabokov’s controversial novel. The play does not retell the story of Lolita—it interrogates its aftermath. Through a series of imagined conversations with the famous men who have interpreted Nabokov’s work, the production asks: who gets to tell the story, and at what cost?
