America is having a tough time; what it needs now, most of all, is some plays. Join Jake (Beckhard) (Three Scenes in the Life of a Trotskyist) for an excerpt from Yankees by Serena Berman and a mild American classic, Pullman Car Hiawatha

In Yankees, Serena Berman savages the myth of American exceptionalism and the trope of the Ugly American by sending five college students to a beautiful Florentine villa for a study abroad program & then barring the door and trapping them in their filth. In Pullman Car Hiawatha, thirty five people put on a play and offer a prayer for forgiveness — on a train.
