Recodar

A dark night in the woods. The kind of setting that’s perfect for telling ghost stories. Into the night, The Narrator approaches: a mysterious figure carrying a strange lantern. Not one to turn down good company, The Narrator humbly invites you to join them for a winding tale that gives voice to all of the different ways that we can be haunted.
Recodar is a brand-new play by Laurel Mora that seeks to explore grief, memory, and the struggle of straddling two worlds.

The Chemistry of Salt

In 1998, Carlos, a 23-year-old gay man, embarked on a life-changing journey from northern Mexico to the capital and discovered Salvador Novo's recently published autobiography, The Pillar of Salt. Through Novo's own words, we learn about the life of this queer Mexican author learning about his triumphs and struggles. Set against the backdrop of the sweeping AIDS crisis in Mexico City, Carlos grapples with finding solace in Novo's story while navigating the complexities of his own life. This heartfelt coming-of-age narrative contrasts the life of a Mexican queer pioneer with that of an aspiring teacher, shedding light on the profound journey of embracing one's identity and living authentically.
