True Crime is a bold exploration of the role of women in graphic crime media and the effect of the overconsumption and romanticization of that violence. When the brutal murder of college student Nancy’s roommate becomes the subject of her favorite true crime podcast, Nancy’s beloved pastime turns into a waking nightmare from which she can’t escape. True Crime was the recipient of the 2022 Marilyn Swartz Seven '69 Annual Playwriting Award at Vassar College, and we are beyond excited to present a new reworking of this text.
