Mortals

June 17th at 3:00 PM

Shamus (director)

Siblings Gigi and River ignite a small town war when they follow their psychedelic grandma’s end of life wishes to be transformed into mushrooms. When River decides to homebrew a documentary out of the theatrics, they quickly discover the joys and grief of intergenerational queerness and just how deeply everything—and every fungi—is connected. A comic docudrama collage blending film and live performance, Mortals asks if communities can still exist once their secrets are unearthed, if the marvels of mycology are all they’re cracked up to be, and what's possible when we reimagine death.

TW: Family death, discussion of child loss
