The Jokes Saved My Soul
February 22 at 7:00 PM
Harmon Leon, Creator/Performer
A hit at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland: Through happy times. Through sad times. With friends. With enemies. With strangers. ‘The Jokes’ have always been there for Harmon (This American Life, Vice, The New Yorker). A multimedia extravaganza and nod to Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape – Harmon dives deep into his love/hate relationship with the world of comedy. After living through the pandemic followed by trauma and death, in the end, what saved Harmon’s soul, is: ‘The Jokes.’ Harmon Leon has performed his comedy shows around their world, including The Kennedy Center, Edinburgh Festival, Montreal’s Just for Laughs, SF Sketchfest, and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
“I was reminded of the way Spalding Gray would present his great work” NY Theater Guide
'Weird. Wildly original and completely incomprehensible' ***** (Age, Melbourne)
“Leon takes a risk with his comedy and audiences should too” ***** (Adelaide Advertiser)
