  • The Tank 312 W 36th St New York, NY, 10018 United States (map)

July 29 at 7pm: dirty clean dirty clean by Caro Sarkozi (a staged reading)

July 30 at 6:30pm: Writing Workshop: Writing WIth Women in Mind

July 31 at 7pm: Sisterhood in the Time of the Apocalypse by Kendra Augustin

Join The Bechdel Group for two staged readings and a writing workshop to jump start your fall! A writing workshop that delves into The Bechdel Test and the roles written for women in scripts led by Executive Director Clare Solly will get your creative juices flowing, or if you're not a writer will give you insights on The Bechdel Test and how it is used in film, theatre, and beyond. Don't forget to bring something to write with, pencil, paper or computer, we don't care!

Then join us on Friday for dirty clean dirty clean, a play set in a laundromat at 3:23am where questions like can you fit in a drier and will drinking bleach kill you get answered? Then join us on Sunday to see our resident playwright for 2021-22 Kendra Augustin's play Sisterhood in the Time of The Apocalypse directed by Denise Womack!

*Please note that this performance will be presented at the Tank's in-person performance space at 312 W 36th St. All attendees and artists will be required to display proof of full covid vaccination before being admitted to the space, either by showing a vaccination record (vaccination card) at least two weeks out from the final dose of an approved vaccine, or by using New York's free Excelsior Pass service, available here. Patrons will also be required to wear masks while indoors at all times and for the time being, no food or beverage will be permitted to be consumed at the theater.
