Poe’s Children
October 30, 2021 @ 7:00pm
Creator & Director: Christina Rose Ashby
Assistant Director: Crystal-Marie Alberson
A devised exploration, utilizing nine selected poems of Edgar Allen Poe, wonders How our parents influence our relationships with our own existence in the universe and What keeps us ignited through “this fever called living”. These questions, among other themes of aging, generational trauma, dreams, and love, will be explored by reimagined presentations and personal reflections. Our Multidisciplinary artists, masquerading as the imagined offspring of Poe, will access their interpretations for this piece through music, movement, dance, etc. all in the voice of our melancholic poet.
