YEAR OF THE MONKEY
by Mara Thomas
YEAR OF THE MONKEY is a partly scripted, partly devised play centered on female rage, ritual, intuition, getting back to nature, and modern warfare. It follows a squadron of 5 women who are waging literal war on the patriarchy deep in the jungle, Green Beret-style, and digs into how we unknowingly replicate the same bullshit abuses in our struggles to dismantle the master's house.
Directed by Caitlin Wells; featuring featuring Allison Altman*, Dawn L. Troupe*, Jaz Astwood, Kimberlee Walker, and Lauren Dortch-Crozier; designed by Adam Lindquist, Olivia Cucinotta, and Willie Gambucci. (*member of Actors' Equity)
Developed with support from Drop Forge & Tool and the Turkey Land Cove Foundation.
This is an Equity Approved Showcase.
