About The Show
We are turning off the lights! In this Festival and environmental initiative, The Tank is celebrating innovative performance that utilizes self-sufficient and alternative energy sources. Artists are using everything from glow-in-the-dark mouth guards to flashlights and more to shed some light on their work. Don't worry - we keep the AC on. SHOT IN THE DARK is Dark Fest's variety show of work all done with no lights from our grid.

ABOUT THE SHOWS
BOUND by Adrian Burke and Jess Kelley is an original improvised theater form developed by Adrian Burke and Jess Kelley-Madera. When performing Bound, Jess and Adrian are tethered together at opposite ends of a single string of lights. Connected, confined, and beautifully illuminated, they use details from the audience and a time-bending structure to tell the story of one relationship over the course of a lifetime. Thank you to The Tank for hosting the debut performance of Bound.
TÁO
Conceived by Ran Xia and Florence LeBas
Written by Ran Xia
Directed by Florence LeBas
TÁO is a multidisciplinary piece that combines extracts of the poems The Peach Blossom Spring () by Tao Tuanming () and You Can't Go Home Again by Thomas Wolfe, with On Raglan Road by Patrick Kavanagh.
UNDERNEATH by Christopher Wolter is a movement-oriented and poetic expression of the continual search for whats just under the surface of love, identity, and romance. Trapped in a space between wakefulness and dreaming two lovers seem to find themselves haunted by their own relationship and its past, an endless circling of the same drain which neither can quite escape. They hunt for whats just out of sight, what drives them to repeat their painful patterns of dependence and independence. Whats just out of reach, and what drives a person to always look for whats just behind the curtain of the other?
ROCKS ALGAE WATER STARS by Jonathan O'Neill

Also, metal valleys conversation duty death identity.
A DANCE PIECE by Anna-Christina Betekhtin
An empty bowl, mauled raw cherries and the weight of work.
A dreams sweet fever, a gentle sin remembered.
Crawl into this silence. Tremble and surrender.
