A Shot In The Dark

  • The Tank 312 West 36th Street, First Floor New York, NY 10018 United States (map)

A variety show of work all done with no lights from our grid as part of our annual summer Dark Fest!

Featuring:

WRESTLING WITH LESBIANS

Digging into the memory of his grandmother, writer/performer Dan Kuan Peeples is made into a man by wrestling the formative figures from his Asian childhood - the lesbians that whipped his ass.

Writer/Performer: Dan Kuan Peeples
Co-Directors: Nick Auer and Max Pendergast

Muliebris Dance Theatre, a newly formed company created by Samantha Bergman and Holly Heidt, uses physical strength, everyday gestures, and theatricality to investigate the world around us. Through collaboration with artists of different mediums, the company pulls together elements of sound, costume, props, and movement to tell their stories.

Soluq Dance Theater brings a fresh voice into the world of dance. As a contemporary dance company, Soluq offers a physical meeting place for audiences, artists, and performance space to merge. Soluq always strives to take the shared experience somewhere new and unexpected, enjoying the rush of challenging, new territories.

Daring Greatly explores the dynamic risk of abandoning control, being willing to see and be seen, and indulge in the struggle of removing our boundaries. The dancers make themselves and others vulnerable to outside forces and outside people.

A Shot in the Dark is part of DarkFest.
