JESUS WAS NO SISSY
JESUS WAS NO SISSY is a comic storytelling show about how Good Christian Girls Who Might Be Boys Inside learn about masculinity and femininity through the wonders of The Lord's Boot Camp (motto: Get Dirty for God, Go Lay a Brick), Christian finishing school ("From Grubby to Grace" for girls and "God's Gentlemen" for boys) and a subscription to the Sugar Creek Gang series of Christian fiction.
Jesus Is Not Sissy is written and performed by Kelli Dunham, the ex-nun genderqueer nurse storytelling nerd comic so common in modern Brooklyn. Kelli has appeared on Showtime and the Discovery Channel and nationwide at colleges, prides, fundraisers, the Cinderblock Comedy Festival and even the occasional livestock auction. Kelli was nominated to be a 2105 White House Champion of Change for her work as the co-founder and co-curator of Queer Memoir, NYC's longest-running, and most earnest LGBT storytelling event.
This show is being produced as part of The Tank's annual PrideFest 2017!
We have four awesome solo storytelling events happening and we'd love for you to see them! Grab a Proud AF Storytelling Pass for $18 (each show is $10)! Curated by Susan Kent. For more information, go to http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2989231
