About the Show
7 playwrights. 7 rules. 7 new plays. 1 night only.
The sixth incarnation of the RULE OF series invites seven writers to devise new ten-minute plays adhering to the same set of rules. (Sample rules from our last show: "Bright sunshine," "A brief speech about masturbation.")
7 plays for just $7. Followed by an amazing after-party hosted by the Tank at 9pm!
The playwrights this time around are: BRETT EPSTEIN, DAN McCABE, IVANO PULITO, JEFF RONAN, ABBY ROSEBROCK, LILLI STEIN and STEPHANIE SWIRSKY.
And the rules...
RULE #1 (Ivano Pulito's rule)
An all-too-brief awkward sexual moment begins the show.
RULE #2 (Lilli Stein's rule)
At least one character must provide us with at least three things they hate about the Theatre of Today.
RULE #3 (Stephanie Swirsky's rule)
Pants.
RULE #4 (Abby Rosebrock's rule)
Ella Fitzgerald.
RULE #5 (Daniel Joseph McCabe's rule)
"See it's statements like those that make everyone think you're a complete moron."
RULE #6 (Jeff Ronan's rule)
A character spoils the ending of a movie that is at least ten years old, angering another character who hasn't gotten around to watching it yet.
RULE #7 (Brett Epstein's rule)
"Well fuck me twice and call me _."
