The CyberTank Variety Show was The Tank’s FREE virtual gathering place, hosting dozens of artists every other week throughout the 2020 Shut-down
On March 13, 2020, The Tank went dark out of an abundance of caution and in solidarity with peer theaters in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This shutdown, while brutal for the organization and for emerging artists across the world, opened up the opportunity to reconsider theatricality, how it has traditionally existed, and how it could exist as a more accessible and communal way both during and beyond the pandemic.
A group of Tank Artists then proceeded to create CyberTank: an e-home for e-merging artists, starting with the CyberTank Weekly Variety show – a weekly, remote, multidisciplinary arts gathering that is publicly and freely shared.
CyberTank has now transformed and continues to live on through the many of our live-streamed shows and online series. Check them out on the Tank Calendar of Events!
